For ECT (ECommerceTemplate) Store Owners Who Use PayPal Standard

If you have an ECT store and are using PayPal Standard (meaning that customers go from your store to PayPal to pay) please double check your settings. I’ve written a blog article with step-by-step instructions: click here to read the article on how to set up PayPal with ECT.

New Version of Web Yep Available: Includes WYSIWYG Editor

Ok, so you’re wondering, what is Web Yep and what is WYSIWYG? Web Yep is a content management tool that some of you had me install on your websites so that you could update regions of your website yourself. Some of you are using it for announcements, others for calendars. On the versions you all have, when you edit content, you have to do all the formatting manually. Well Web Yep just released version 1.2 (free upgrades) that has a built in “What You See Is What You Get - WYSIWYG” editor, so your editing window can look like this:

Isn’t this cool? So now when you’re editing Web Yep content, it’s much easier to format the content just the way you like it. Estimated time to install: approx 15 min, depending on how many different Web Yep editable regions are on your site.

Some Advice For Those Clients With Blogs:

Since I’ve graduated from grad school, I now have time to read things, and I’ve been subscribing to several blogs related to web design, Google, online marketing, etc. Here’s one particular article I wanted to pass along to those of you who have WordPress blogs: Optimize RSS and Atom Feeds for WordPress.

If you have a WordPress blog and are tired of having every article you write show up as written by “admin”…read this article on how to change it to something more friendly, like “Jill” or “Stephen” or “Grisha”.

Want More Website Traffic?

I wrote a huge article on everything I’ve learned and wanted to say to a new website owner after I’ve finished their site on how to get visitors to their new website. (go here to read the article). Be prepared, it’s long. After a few interactions with a representative from YellowBook.com, who was heavily pushing me to recommend pay-per-click to my clients, I wanted to present what I thought was a fair and balanced explanation of the two approaches: organic vs pay-per-click. Anyway, read the article and send feedback!
