Export Mailing List from ECommerceTemplates ECT to Constant Contact

If you use eCommerceTemplates and want to export the mailing list into Constant Contact, you can follow these steps. Make sure you have explicit permission from folks before you send them bulk emails!

1. Export from ECT store (Mailing List, Action: Dump Entire Mailing List)
2. Convert CSV file to XLSX (because CC needs this)
(Option: Break fullname (first last) into two columns or whether to leave it as one value)

3. Sign in to CC, Contact, Pick List, Add Contact, From File
4. Select which fields to import and map them to CC fields
5. Import and done.

Gmail Mail Sending Failures – Action: Delayed Status: 4.1.1

For the past two days (7/25/12 and 7/26/12) I am having difficulty sending emails to my clients who have gmail accounts. I am sending from my ISP, which is Comcast. Details of what I am getting are below. This has happened with 4 of my clients who use gmail. Anyone else having this issue?

Why Small Business Should Be Careful About using AOL For Business Email

Should small business owners use AOL for their business email? Normally I strongly encourage clients who are getting a new website to use their domain based email as their business email address. So rather than having janedoe@aol.com, I try to get them to use jane@theirdomainname.com – or any email based on their website domain. Why All Small Business Websites Should Have An Online Contact Form

On all the websites I develop, I strongly recommend that clients add an online contact “form” to make it easier for prospective customers to contact them. My own experience seemed to indicate that folks are more likely to fill out a contact form that’s embedded in a website page, rather than clicking on an email address link that opens their mail application. I decided to actually gather some real data, and post the results to my blog – so here it is.
