"I have found the WordPress blog incredibly easy to use. I am not a technical wizard, yet found that it was pretty simple to make any changes I wanted in my blog - customizing things for my needs. Combine this with Jill's clear instructions that got me going and it has been a breeze to blog away!"

"I just updated my site for the week and was thinking just how good it feels to have autonomy over my website. It gives me a sense of freedom to change, grow and develop my practice through the use of content. I enjoy expository writing and consider providing information key to my practice. I am so glad Jill could clearly guide me in determining whether WordPress what right for me."

Add A WordPress Blog To Your Web Site And Start Blogging!
The WordPress Blog application is a popular blogging application that offers a wide variety of configurable options. Blogging is an excellent way to expand your website content, increase your website traffic, share your knowledge, and offer free advice to customers, and attract advertising revenue.
How Much Does It Cost To Install and Customize A WordPress Blog?
The WordPress Blog software is completely FREE to download! It typically takes me typically 3 to 6 hours to install, integrate and configure. I charge
$80 per hour. (This time range is for websites I've developed and that have a hosting company with a one-click WordPress installer like DreamHost. Other situations may require longer amounts of time.) There is no cost to maintaining a blog because you write the articles and manage the blog yourself!
If I Already Have A Web Site Can You Integrate A WordPress Blog?
YES! WordPress can be integrated into your existing website and if done properly, can look seamless. Click on the images below to see enlargements of blogs that I've installed, integrated and customized. Click on the company name to view the actual live blog. (Note, this integration service is generally limited to folks who have their original web design by Aldebaran Web Design - but I do make exceptions depending on workload conditions, so please feel free to ask.)
Can I Use WordPress as a Content Management System and Make My Entire Website In WordPress?
Yes you can! WordPress has thosands of free themes to pick from, and if you can find one that suits you, I can let you know if it can be configured to look like a "normal" website. This is a very fast and cost effective way to build a website. Here are some examples of work I've done for clients who wanted basic websites that were 100% WordPress. This enables clients to modify 100% of the content on the website themselves!
WordPress Frequently Asked Questions
What Is A Blog?
Here's a comprehensive introduction to blogging put together by WordPress. It's a fantastic article written by the folks who develop WordPress, the best free, open source, PHP/MySQL based blogging software, and the only blogging software I install and customize for my website clients (and for myself) who need a blog.
How Do I Know If My Website Hosting Company Supports WordPress - What Are The Requirements To Install WordPress?
WordPress has three requirements listed below. Simply ask your hosting company if they support these. Read more about WordPress requirement details.
- PHP 4.2 or greater
- MySQL 4.0 or greater
- The mod_rewrite Apache module
Can I Use WordPress Whether I'm On A Mac or a PC?
WordPress is a web-based application. This means you use your computer's web browser to access WordPress and write posts. There are many different web browsers, and I prefer Firefox. I have had issues with Safari and WordPress, so if you're on a mac, I recommend using Firefox for WordPress. If you're on a PC, Firefox or Internet Explorer should be fine as well.
