You may have heard of “weblogs” or “blogs” for short and wondered what all the fuss was about. While blogs are a great way to express your opinions on a myriad of topics, they are also an excellent way to increase visitor traffic to your website. How do they do this?
Most website clients want to increase their ranking on search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. They pay me to perform search engine optimization on their websites to boost their rankings. But did you realize that adding a blog to your website can also help you attract visitors who are using search engines?
Blog articles are a search engine’s dream: they typically focus on a single topic and talk about that topic over and over. Each time a blog article mentions its topic, it generates another keyword instance. When search engines crawl over your blog article, it will read these keywords, and each time it comes across another it increases the chance that a search engine will retrieve that blog article if someone uses that keyword in their search. If you blog about it, they will come!
Blogging is also a very affordable way to increase your website traffic. Go here to read about the costs of adding a blog to your website.
